Canada Global (Web News) The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued an advisory on Tuesday to inform federal and provincial departments that they should take the necessary precautions to amicably deal with the anticipated rain, wind, and thunderstorm that will occur as a result of a westerly wave intruding into the local weather system.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) weather forecast, which indicated that a westerly wave was anticipated to enter higher portions of the country on March 16, grip upper and central regions on March 17, and likely linger till March 20, led the Authority to issue the advisory.
According to the forecast, this weather system would have an impact on the following districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Haripur, Karak, Peshawar, Kohat, Charsada, Nowshera, Swabi, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Islamabad, Galliyat, Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, and Lahore are among the cities in Punjab that fall under this category.
Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar are all located in Gilgit-Baltistan.
However, within the same weather system, rain, wind, dust, and thunderstorms (with isolated heavy rain and hailstorm) were anticipated in the Punjabi districts of Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Kasur, and Sheikhupura from March 17–19 (Friday to Monday).
Nankana Sahib, Khushab, Mianwali, Sargodha, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Kot Addu, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan and Bahawalpur.
Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Dadu, Mirpurkhas, and Karachi are all in Sindh.
The weather system was expected to have an effect on Balochistan’s Quetta, Zhob, Khuzdar, Naseerabad, Dera Bugti, Barkhan, Harnai, Qila Saifullah, Qillah Abdullah, Chamman, and Pishin.
