Canada Global(Web News)One person died and 3 others were injured in a suspicious house fire in Mississauga on Tuesday. Police is investigating the matter.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Bromgrove Road east of Winston Churchill Boulevard at 3:00 a.m. to a report of a fire. Mississauga Fire Chief Darren Rizzi said crews could see flames and smoke from the home. It was also very hot near home. Crews went to the basement and second floor of the home and searched, Rizzi said. Two people were found unconscious in both bedrooms of the upper floor of the house. Both were taken to hospital where one person was pronounced dead.
Two other people got out of the house on their own before crews arrived but were found lying on the front lawn with injuries. Paramedics said one person was taken to hospital in critical condition and the other is said to be seriously injured. According to paramedics, a dog and a cat were also taken out of the house. But the dog died.
The house where the fire broke out was brought under control by 6 am. As of press time, crews were still working to contain the fire. Razi did not provide information on the cause of the fire, but said it was suspicious. He also said that the investigation of the matter has been handed over to the Peel Regional Police.
