Man Charged With Assault, Bc Crown Prosecutor In Vancouver

Canada Global(Web News)A man has been charged in connection with the apparently random attacks on a Crown prosecutor and another woman in Vancouver. 27-year-old Kenyon Thomas Lavallee is charged with two counts of assault.

According to Vancouver police, the attacks occurred around 9 a.m. near East Cordova and Main streets

According to the police, the accused escaped and assaulted another woman a short distance away from his arrest.

Const Tanya Wizenton said it was believed both attacks were random and the suspect and victim did not know each other.
“We don’t know what his motive was,” Wizenton said. “Early indications are that the suspect may have some mental health challenges.”
Lavallee was arrested on a warrant on unrelated charges in late January but was released from custody two days before the alleged attacks. Lavallee was released from jail on the evening of Jan. 31 after appearing on separate charges related to other incidents in Vancouver, court records show.
