Canada Global(Web News)Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will soon earn more than $400,000 a year as his salary and that of other federal politicians is set to increase on April 1.
Conservative leader Pierre Poilever will also see his base pay increase as an MP and top-up opposition leader, with the
base salary for members of parliament rising from $194,600 to $203,100 on April 1, according to the Office of the Speaker of the House of Commons. That’s an increase of $8,500 or 4.3 percent.
Salaries are adjusted on April 1 of each year based on an index to the average percentage increase in the basic wage rate in Canada for a calendar year
