President Joseph Aoun said that Hezbollah has no intention of joining a new war and wants to make 2025 the year when all weapons are under the full control of the state.
He said that the presence of weapons outside state control is unacceptable and that negotiations will be held with the Lebanese organization Hezbollah to classify the surrender of weapons. The Lebanese president added that Hezbollah fighters will not be included in the army as a separate unit. Hezbollah members can join the army and be part of various courses. President Joseph Aoun said that we want to disarm Hezbollah, but we do not want a civil war in Lebanon.
