Last day of cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, talks on extension

According to the report of the news agency, dozens of hostages have been released as a result of the cease-fire that began on November 24, in exchange for which Israel has released more than 100 Palestinian prisoners.

Sources close to Hamas said that Hamas believes that it is possible to secure the release of 20 to 40 Israeli prisoners at this time.

Under the ceasefire agreement, 50 hostages held by Hamas were to be released in 4 days in exchange for 150 Palestinian prisoners, which could be extended if at least 10 Israeli prisoners were released each additional day.

In this regard, American President Biden says that the pause in the fighting for the exchange of prisoners is expected to continue, while the French Foreign Minister has also supported the extension of the ceasefire.

In addition, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that he has told the American president that after the temporary ceasefire ends, Israel will resume operations in Gaza with full force.

In his statement, Netanyahu said that he would welcome the extension of the ceasefire.

It should be noted that yesterday Hamas released 13 Israelis and 4 foreigners, including 3 Thai citizens and one Russian, on the third day of the ceasefire, in response to which 39 Palestinian prisoners were released by Israel. 

 Under the agreement, 120 aid trucks, including four trucks of fuel and gas, have also entered Gaza.
