Canada Global(Web News)A woman died in a high-speed car accident in King Township on Sunday morning. Police in York Region are appealing for witnesses to the crash.
The accident happened at the intersection of King Road and 8th Concession, east of the Nobleton community. Police said they were called to the scene just before 7 a.m. after the accident was reported. They said they found a black Infiniti G37 that had crashed into a pole. There were six people in the car. An 18-year-old Brampton girl died despite repeated life-saving efforts by first responders on the scene.
Another 18-year-old Brampton boy was taken to hospital in critical condition. He is being treated. Two other 19-year-old girls from Welland and St. Catharines were also taken to hospital where their condition is said to be out of danger. Another 18-year-old boy from Brampton suffered minor injuries. The driver, a year-old from Brampton, was not injured in the crash.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle was speeding westbound on King Road when the crash occurred, police said. Eyewitnesses are being asked to come forward by the police.
