India has violated international law: Jolly

Canada Global(Web News) Foreign Minister Mileni Joly said on Thursday that Canada has recalled 41 of its diplomats and their 42 family members from India. It is to be mentioned that Canada was asked by Delhi to expel these 41 diplomats from India.

Jolly said that India has allowed only 21 Canadian diplomats to stay there. Jolly said that they could not jeopardize the security of the rest of the diplomats and their families. The security of Canadians and our diplomats is paramount to us. Due to this action taken by India, we considered it good to expel our diplomats from there.
Jolly said that India is violating international law as well as violating diplomatic relations and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. He accused India of fueling bilateral tensions, but Canada will not take any such action to increase tensions. We will continue to follow international law. He said that we have to keep talking to each other.
Clarifying the situation between Canada and India with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Minister Mark Miller, Jolie said that Canada is suspending in-person services at its embassies in Chandigarh, Mumbai and Bangalore and that all Canadians in India should now do their work. It is being sent to the High Commission in New Delhi.
Miller said the remaining staff will focus on all work that cannot be outsourced, such as urgent matters, visa printing and working with visa application centers. He also said that Canada’s 10 visa application centers are operated by third-party contractors and will not be affected.
