In a social media post around 6:25 p.m. Saturday, 511 Alberta said Highway 873 in Brooks is closed in both directions due to a train derailment.

No one was injured, police said.
According to the release, about 17 train coaches containing 34 c cans and other products were found.
Canadian Pacific Railway police will lead the investigation once they arrive, RCMP said.
As of 8:47 p.m. Highway 1A and 7th Street East, as well as between Highway 1A and Range Road 142, are closed and officers are directing traffic in the area. RCMP said roads will be closed “for some time.”
