Canada Global (Web News) Health Canada ordered painkiller from overseas.
Parents are struggling to find pain and fever medicines for their children due to the rise in respiratory illnesses. But in the meantime, Health Canada announced that it had arranged to order a supply of children’s acetaminophen from overseas.
In the coming weeks, the supply will be available for retail purchase and parents will also be able to pick it up at community pharmacies. In addition to this supply, Health Canada recently approved the importation of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen for infants and young children to make it available in Canadian hospitals.
The agency also claimed that a supply of Ibuprofen had been imported and was being distributed.
In the meantime, Health Canada has also urged parents not to start stockpiling drugs after seeing the supply of drugs on store shelves, as these drugs are still in short supply and could be disruptive to other parents in need. The agency also says that if a drug is not available to caregivers, a substitute drug should be requested from the pharmacist.
