Elections Will Be Transparent And Under The Supervision Of The Army, Election Commission

Canada Global(Web News) In a meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the code of conduct regarding the upcoming general elections was approved.
It was told in the meeting that the Election Commission is ready for the elections. The Election Commission has completed the hearing on the preliminary constituencies while more final electoral rolls are being printed in NADRA to ensure their delivery till the election programme.
The Election Commission, while approving the code of conduct, said that the services of the Pakistan Army should be taken in the elections and full security should be provided to the people to exercise their right to vote.
It was further informed in the meeting that the official notification of the
code of conduct will be issued in the next few days. Training plan for District Returning Officers, Returning Officers and Polling Staff is ready and timely training of said election officers will be ensured. Necessary arrangements for printing of ballot papers and procurement of election materials have also been completed.
In the meeting, while expressing satisfaction with the arrangements made so far regarding the elections, it was ordered that a complete mechanism should be made to deliver the electoral lists to the returning officers so as to ensure the timely delivery of the electoral lists to the returning officers.
The Election Commission said that full details should be taken within a week regarding the deployment of officials of provincial governments and law enforcement agencies for conducting peaceful elections and ensure timely alternative arrangements to meet the shortage of police.
