Canada Global (Web News) Imran Khan, Asad Umar, and Fawad Chaudhry, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), were all issued summonses by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to appear in person in connection with the contempt of election commission case.
A three-person commission led by Nisar Durrani gave the order.
Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry, and Asad Umar’s attorneys appeared before the Election Commission and asked for a postponement, stating that more time was required to prepare the case.
If the PTI leaders do not show up in person for the next hearing on June 5th, the Election Commission threatened to issue non-bailable arrest orders for them. The case revolves around accusations of disobeying the Election Commission’s orders and showing contempt for it.
