After the recent winter, the Lethbridge Shelter and Resource Center said demand has increased significantly. “It’s really important and shows the need for donations for people who are more vulnerable and maybe some people who are on the streets,” said Suzanne Buchanan, coordinator of the shelter’s stabilization unit. More donations are needed to help.
The cold weather has also affected the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen.
The non-profit organization provides three meals a day, except Sundays, and is currently serving about 150 people.
