To solve the problems of the transgender community in Peshawar, the first trans desk was created in Gulbahar police station where an educated transgender person will be posted. This weekend, for the first time in Peshawar, a transgender person will be appointed as an assistant to register FIRs at the police station level.
SSP Operations Peshawar Kashif Aftab Abbasi said that there was a long-standing demand of transgenders that a separate desk should be made for them.
Kashif Abbasi said that the committee formed for the protection of transgenders at the district level has also been restored, the six-member committee will be headed by SSP Operations, while SP Security, SP Faqirabad transgender district.
Along with the establishment of a special desk for transgenders, which will be the members of the committee, an open court for transgenders was held for the first time in Peshawar, in which transgenders from across the district participated .
President of Trans Community Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Arzoo said that since 2013, more than 100 transgenders have been killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the incidents of violence against transgenders are increasing day by day. Special desks will be set up but they should be maintained for a long time.
