Conservative Leader Pierre Polvier’s Housing Plan Failed In The House Of Commons

Canada Global(Web News)Conservative leader Pierre Polvier’s housing bill has been defeated in the House of Commons, with the Liberals, New Democrats and Bloc Québécois voting against the legislation. Pierre Polivier introduced the bill in September as a conservative plan to tackle the country’s housing crisis.

Pierre Polvier’s nationwide campaign for affordable housing has helped boost his party’s support in opinion polls, giving the Conservatives a big lead over the Liberals in several polls.
At the heart of the bill introduced by Pierre Polivre was a proposal that cities should increase housing construction by 15 percent each year to cover their general infrastructure costs. Cities that fail to meet that target will see a cut in funding from the federal government the next time around, meaning less funding, while those that exceed the target will receive additional money.
