
Canada Global (Web News) An explosion at a shop in northern Laos resulted in the deaths of four people, including Chinese nationals, according to a statement from Beijing’s consulate general in the country.
The blast occurred on Friday at a Chinese-owned store in Oudomxay province, the consulate in Luang Prabang confirmed.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion, as reported by both the consulate and local media.
Additionally, three individuals sustained injuries in the incident, which involved both a fire and an explosion at the shop in Nasao village, according to Laos National Radio.
The explosion also caused extensive damage to nearby houses, as reported by China’s state-run Xinhua news agency.
China’s ambassador to Laos, Fang Hong, has mobilized efforts to ensure medical care for the injured and support for the victims’ families in the aftermath of the incident.
