Canada Global(Web News) A 25-year-old man died of carbon monoxide poisoning after a car hit him in the garage of his Kitchener, Ontario home, while six others were taken to hospital.
Neighbors said that most of the people living in the house were international students or new to Canada. Emergency crews arrived at the townhouse on Activa Avenue near Periwinkle Street around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. Eyewitnesses said that there were a large number of ambulances on the road and fire trucks were also present. Many people were being taken out of the house on stretchers and CPR was also given to one person.
Police are not treating it as a suspicious case. A boy named Keval Desai, who lives in the neighborhood, said that the carbon monoxide detector in his house started beeping, which woke him up at 6:45 am. They checked all the electrical appliances in their house but the alarm did not go off. So they opened the doors and windows. After half an hour they got to know the real story.
Nirav Vipani, who lives in Desai’s house, said that the level of carbon monoxide in his house had also increased significantly. Then the firefighters asked them to come out and checked all the rooms. Then they told that their house is safe and they can go back inside.
