Canada Global (Web News) Prior to the Christmas holiday, Canada Post is informing customers of service delays as a severe winter storm sweeps the nation.
The national postal service said in a statement on Friday that it would endeavour to deliver on Friday and Saturday, which is Christmas Eve, but that these efforts would be contingent on the weather and road conditions.
Canada Post stated, “We will try to process and deliver, but in some places, it may not be possible and may be delayed.”
The message said, “Severe winter factors pose a safety danger to our personnel — and others. Nevertheless, our delivery agents will make every effort to deliver despite these challenging weather circumstances.
In several areas of the nation, a red alert for Friday has been issued, meaning delivery is suspended. On Friday, there is also a yellow alert, which means there may be delays.
On December 28, regular delivery operations will start up again, according to Canada Post.
