Canada Becomes The World’s Second Highest Paid Political Leader

Starting April 1, political leaders’ salaries in Canada are being increased by a minimum of $8,500 and a maximum of $17,000, and the minimum salary has been decided to be $203,100. Details about which have been shared by the Office of the Speaker of the House of Commons. According to the information, the members of the Parliament of Canada are currently getting an annual salary of $194,600, which will be increased to $203,100 on April 1. Canada’s Prime Minister’s salary will increase by $17,000 to $406,200.

Eighty percent of Canadians are members of parliament since April, according to a Ledger poll commissioned by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. (Members of Parliament) are protesting against the salary hike. An online survey of 1,541 Canadians conducted between March 15 and 18 found 62 per cent of Canadians strongly opposed the wage increase and 18 per cent somewhat opposed.
