Brijesh Mishra, The Agent Who Played With The Future Of More Than 700 Students, Was Jailed For 3 Years

 Canada Global(Web News) Brijesh Mishra, 37, was arrested following an investigation by the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA). Between 2016 and 2020, he sent Indian students to Canada with forged documents.

Majority of them are Punjabis. Mishra pleaded guilty to several Canadian immigration offenses in a Vancouver court today. Mishra was arrested in June 2023 in Surrey, British Columbia. His detention time will count towards the sentence and thus he will have to spend another 19 months in jail. He had entered Canada on a tourist visa that had expired at the time of his arrest. During the investigation, 12 victims have come forward. After serving his sentence in Canada, Mishra is expected to be extradited to India where he faces other criminal charges, including human trafficking. None of the victims or their families were present in court.
