Canada Global (Web News) Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, has become the sixth Pakistani to score more than 1,000 Test runs in a single year.
The Pakistani captain set the record on Monday on the third day of the Karachi Test match against England when he scored 45 in his innings. Babar was dropped despite scoring 54, though.
Only three other batters had hit 1,000 runs this season before Babar.
Babar has two innings left this year as Pakistan prepares to play New Zealand in a Test match in Karachi from December 26 to December 30. Babar has currently scored 1,009 runs in 15 innings. He has a chance to be the player with the most Test runs at the end of 2022.
The star performer is ranked third in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) career-best rankings with 871 points.
After Australians Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith, Babar takes third place.
