Anchor Jim Acosta departing CNN after working for 18 years

Trump reacts to anchor's departure, calling it "good news" and labeling Acosta "a major loser."

Canada Global (Web News) Jim Acosta announced his departure from CNN after nearly 18 years, saying he had considered an alternative time slot but chose to move on. Reports suggest he declined CNN’s offer to shift his show from 10 a.m. to midnight.

Reflecting on his career, Acosta said his most significant moment was covering Barack Obama’s 2016 visit to Cuba, where he questioned Raúl Castro about political prisoners. As the son of a Cuban refugee, he emphasized the importance of standing up to tyranny.

Acosta was known for his tough questioning of the Trump administration, often clashing with officials. His departure drew a strong reaction from former President Trump, who called it “good news.”

On Truth Social, Trump mocked Acosta, calling him “one of the worst and most dishonest reporters” and claiming CNN moved him to “Death Valley” due to bad ratings. He added that Acosta would fail no matter where he went.
