Canada Global(Web News)On a flagship Air Canada flight last week, a baby was born mid-air after the plane had to be diverted after a passenger went into early labor.
Flight AC Rouge 1879 was flying from St. Lucia to Toronto on March 6 when a passenger experienced a medical problem, Air Canada said in an emailed statement Monday afternoon
. and seek assistance from any medical professional on board.
Air Canada said two doctors generously assisted the passenger, who was in premature labor, and
the flight was diverted to Bermuda, but the baby was delivered before landing.
Both the child and the passenger, who were in stable health, were received by local medics and taken to a local hospital.
