Canada Global (Web News) Saskatchewan Marshals Service has made further progress in the form of official branding and a new deputy chief.The Saskatchewan Marshals Service (SMS) is a new law enforcement presence created by the provincial government and is slated to become operational in 2026.
This service is Sask. The party government’s response to more law enforcement in areas where it is needed, saying that SMS will help the RCMP and municipal law enforcement agencies, conduct proactive investigations, address high crime rates. Will respond to areas and investigate crimes such as farming theft and eviction.
The Minister of Public Safety said the Saskatchewan Marshals Service will stand out as an innovative, responsive and community-engaged approach to the complex modern challenges facing policing services in the province.
Renovations of the SMS district headquarters in Prince Albert are underway, with the province saying it plans to have four or five satellite offices across the province for the service.
