The shooting happened Wednesday in Lewiston, which is located 260 kilometers southwest of the New Brunswick border. The suspect is identified in a police bulletin as 40-year-old Robert Card, who is believed to be in the U.S. Army Reserves and stationed at a training center in Saco, Maine.
The search for the cards is ongoing and residents of southern Maine are advised to lock their homes and stay indoors. The CBSA says it is working closely with Canadian and US law enforcement partners.
