Recently, the ‘International Pakistan Prestige Awards’ (IPPA) ceremony was held in Manchester where Mehwish Hayat was honored with the Best Actress Award for her performance in the film London Nahe Jain Gi.
Mehwish Hayat gave a short speech while receiving her award in which she strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli bombing of Gaza.
Mehwish Hayat posted the video on his Instagram handle and said, “I have always tried to use my platform to highlight important issues and this is close to my heart.
The actress quoted a quote from Dr. King saying that silence is as dangerous as speaking.
She said that I believe in the truth, if we open our hearts and see the humanity in each other, peace becomes possible.
He further said that hospitals are being attacked, innocent children are being massacred, mothers are losing their children, all this is very sad, we demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
