Canada Global(Web News)Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar has said that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a game changer project for development and prosperity in the region. Pakistan will welcome other countries and partners in CPEC.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar addressed the High Level Forum on Connectivity in Open Global Economy. In his address, the Prime Minister congratulated the Chinese leadership for successfully holding the third BRF.
Appreciating President Xi’s vision on the Belt and Road Initiative, the caretaker prime minister said CPEC is the flagship project of BRI, which is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, which is heavily influenced by China’s development models.
He said that the world is facing the challenges of climate change, food security and epidemics, the welfare of humanity lies in projects of common development and prosperity.
The caretaker prime minister said that BRI’s flagship project CPEC started in Pakistan in 2013, 50 projects worth 25 billion dollars have been completed under CPEC.
Anwarul Haq Kakar said that through CPEC, 8,000 MW of electricity is being generated in Pakistan, 10,000 MW of projects are under completion, the international airport in Gwadar will be operational soon, agriculture and industry will develop through integrated communication links.
He said that Chinese leadership deserves the credit for lifting millions of people out of poverty, Pakistan would welcome other countries and partners in CPEC.
The caretaker prime minister emphasized the urgent need to address the infrastructure gap in developing countries.
