According to the report, official sources said that Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has stopped fuel supply to PIA due to non-payment of dues.
A PIA spokesperson confirmed that flight operations were severely affected due to the suspension of fuel supply to the airline, with 14 domestic flights canceled and 4 flights delayed by several hours.
He said that negotiations between the PIA administration and Pakistan State Oil continued till late night. The canceled flights include Islamabad to Gilgit, Islamabad to Quetta, Karachi to Sukkur flights.
PIA flight PK 305 from Lahore to Karachi reached Lahore due to delay.
Another PIA flight PK 308 from Karachi to Islamabad was also delayed due to lack of fuel, later PIA flight PK 309 from Islamabad to Karachi was also delayed.
Due to the cancellation and delay of PIA flights, hundreds of passengers are facing problems for the past several days.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has directed the concerned authorities to speed up the process of privatization of PIA as the national airline is suffering from financial crisis.
