Canada Global (Web News) Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui has come back to Karachi after seeing her sister Aafia Siddiqui, who is detained in a US prison.
Dr. Fauzia said that she will re-catch up with her sister Aafia Siddiqui in July while speaking to reporters at the Karachi airport. She said that the previous administration might have facilitated her contact with Aafia much earlier.
She went on to say that the new administration had made it possible for her to meet with Aafia. She said that Foreign Minister Bilal Bhutto-Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave her a lot of assistance.
According to Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui, she had no clue Aafia would be in such a wretched state. She said that she could return to Pakistan with a little effort.
Her contact with Aafia was made possible by the Islamabad High Court. Fauzia emphasised that the IHC’s contribution may be crucial in securing Aafia’s release, she said.
She said that Senator Mushtaq Ahmed had previously provided her with a lot of assistance and helped her see her sister after 20 years.
