Canada Global (Web News) Shah Mehmood Qureshi, vice chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated on Wednesday that the election will be “difficult” in the province as a result of Mohsin Raza Naqvi’s appointment as the interim chief minister of Punjab.
The former foreign minister stated that the PTI has major concerns over Naqvi’s appointment while speaking to journalists in Multan.
In the midst of controversy and tensions among Punjab’s political stakeholders, Naqvi took his oath as caretaker CM last Sunday. The PTI decided to protest the choice of his appointment by “taking to the streets,” which was not received well.
“We approved the caretaker CM’s name as proposed by the opposition in KP. We tried to come up with a name for the Pakistan Democratic Movement in Punjab, but we were unsuccessful,” Qureshi said, lamenting the impasse.
He claimed that his party had expressed its displeasure with the appointment of an interim CM to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Qureshi asserted, “As a political party, we have the right to express our reservations.
Regarding the arrest of PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry, Qureshi stated that people who upheld the rule of law were shocked by the events of today. He claimed that a FIR was cited as justification for the arrest.
The truth is that PTI needs to be under pressure, according to Qureshi.
He also criticised Bilal Siddique Kamyana’s appointment as the Lahore capital city police officer, claiming that a person who mistreated PTI employees on May 25 was chosen for the position.
