Canada Global (Web News) Major snowfall in Vancouver earlier this week caused flight cancellations and delays, which are now being compounded by a winter storm coming down on Toronto.
According to Environment Canada, Toronto will have rain or snow today, followed by freezing rain on Friday and blizzard-like conditions on Saturday.
The Toronto Pearson International Airport has issued a warning that it may have an impact on operations, and Environment Canada has issued a travel advisory due to the possibility of widespread power disruptions.
It comes after days of intense cold and snow in Vancouver that seriously hampered airport operations. As a result, the airport decided to stop all incoming foreign arrivals until Friday morning in order to clear the tarmac of congestion.
Although Vancouver experienced some relief on Wednesday, the airport said it is making every effort to get ready for more severe weather today and promises to give specific information before the system comes.
