Emirates has now activated its codeshare agreement with Air Canada.

The codeshare agreement between Air Canada and Emirates will be available to passengers starting on November 1st, the two airlines have announced. The programme is scheduled to begin today, but it was initially announced in July.

Customers of both airlines will be able to travel to 46 locations in the Americas, Africa, and Asia thanks to the arrangement. As part of the arrangement, Air Canada will serve six domestic routes, the majority of which are through Emirates networks. Soon, frequent fliers of the two airlines will be able to accrue miles for flights on the other airline.

Codeshare agreement

Services are provided to 35 locations under the codeshare agreement. The other 11 are waiting for authorisation from international aviation authorities. Emirates travellers who want to go to Canada will have access to six additional locations under the codeshare arrangement after all planned flights have been approved. Ottawa, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Halifax, and Montreal are a few of these. Emirates will print their code on the Air Canada tickets for these passengers on certain flights throughout Canada

The code for Air Canada will be printed on an Emirates ticket for customers who wish to travel to one of the numerous locations that Emirates offers through the codeshare agreement. Air Canada will be able to promote links all around the world thanks to the deal. Customers will have access to locations throughout Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. The airlines have announced their intention to increase the number of codeshare locations in the future.

The two airlines are currently developing a frequent flyer programme that will allow members of Skywards and Aeroplan to accrue and use points on flights operated by Air Canada and Emirates. Additionally, these customers will have access to the relevant airport lounges of both carriers.
