Canada Global (Web News) The White House clarified on Monday that Elon Musk is not an employee of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and does not hold any decision-making authority within the government, according to a Reuters report.
In an official court filing, Joshua Fisher, director of the White House Office of Administration, stated that Musk serves solely as a senior adviser to President Trump. His role is limited to providing advice and relaying the president’s directives.
The document further highlighted that, like other senior advisers, Musk does not possess any formal power to make government decisions.
This statement was issued in response to a lawsuit filed against Musk by the State of New Mexico. It confirmed that Musk is neither a member of the U.S. DOGE Service nor its Temporary Organization, nor does he serve as the Administrator of the DOGE Service.
Musk’s involvement in government affairs began when President Trump appointed him to assist in reducing unnecessary expenditures as part of a larger effort to restructure the federal administration, which has resulted in significant job cuts.
Since the beginning of Trump’s second term, DOGE has been focused on optimizing federal agencies, with Musk playing a key role in these initiatives.
