In an interview with the Reign With Josh Smith podcast, the 29-year-old actress emphasized the importance of standing up for oneself in the industry.
Reflecting on her own experience, Pugh described the journey as difficult and exhausting, noting that young women in Hollywood have a lot to protect, defend, and speak out about. She recalled the pressure of having to constantly assert herself, especially when she began her career at 18.
Pugh, who starred in We Live in Time alongside Andrew Garfield, explained that the experience of navigating the industry forces one to grow and find a sense of self. She added that today, she focuses on caring for herself and her well-being, expressing no regrets about her journey. “I’m proud of the things that I stood up for,” she concluded.
