According to the sources, Justice (R) Tasadeq Jilani has been appointed as the head of the inquiry commission, the sources of the federal cabinet say. It is said that the Attorney General was specially invited to the Cabinet meeting and his legal opinion was sought on the matter.
Justice (Rtd) Tasadeq Jilani has also been formally contacted and the legal team has also been told that the Cabinet has agreed on the name of the former Chief Justice and the Cabinet has given him the full mandate of the investigation. Sources in the federal cabinet say that the government legal team has been directed to inform the Chief Justice of Pakistan about the decision taken by the cabinet in this regard.
