The chaos led to the complete evacuation of an apartment building in Vallée St. Laurent amid a blizzard early Sunday morning.
A 26-year-old man was taken out of the building on Cripeau Street in handcuffs on Sunday afternoon. The 20-year-old is one of two prime suspects arrested in connection with the incident, officers said.
According to police, around 4 a.m. several calls were received reporting a fight involving several people.
Montreal police spokeswoman Jean Drouin said when police arrived, they found three victims, three men who were taken to hospital with injuries to the upper body, possibly caused by a sharp object

During the commotion, someone raised the fire alarm. Firefighters rushed to the scene but could not control the fire. Still, about 100 residents were ordered to leave the building late at night. They were forced to live in and out of their beds in the cold blizzard.
Police spent hours trying to determine who in the crowd was a witness, victim, or suspect. People were allowed to return to their homes long after sunrise.
