The Government Of Alberta Will Take Action For The Community Through The Alberta Community Justice Grant

 Canada Global(Web News) A new one-time grant will support community-based initiatives to increase access to justice for the people of Alberta.

Resolving legal issues outside of the traditional court system can be less stressful for the parties involved, less expensive and quicker than going to court, and a growing number of Albertans are choosing to use their own solutions instead of the courts. Priority is given to solving problems within communities.

To give Albertans more options to resolve criminal, family and civil justice matters outside the courtroom, the Government of Alberta is investing $1.2 million in new one-time grants to support innovative and community-based But initiatives that provide alternatives to the formal court system can be supported. The Alberta Community Justice Grant will help increase access to justice within community settings, which are proactive, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed and tailored to the specific needs of Alberta’s vulnerable people.
