Canada Global(Web News) Officers of the Peel Police’s Specialized Enforcement Bureau Step Team have arrested and charged five Brampton men with possession of weapons and drugs.
On Friday at approximately 12:00 p.m., SEB officers and Peel Police’s tactical unit encountered three individuals in the Rutherford Road area of Vaughan on Highway 50. As a result of the ongoing investigation by SEB, these persons were arrested and charged with illegal possession of arms. When these persons were searched, they found a FN 509 9 mm pistol with a 24 round magazine containing 20 rounds. Other charges were also brought against them.
On the same day at approximately 3:44 a.m., police officers arrested and charged two other individuals during a traffic stop in the Bowward Drive area of Mountainash Road in Brampton. Illegal weapons were also recovered from them. Two magazines with a capacity of 24 rounds were also recovered from them. Meanwhile, 11 charges against 21-year-old Amandeep Singh of Brampton, 30-year-old Ramanpreet Singh and 21-year-old Maninder Singh of Brampton were charged in six cases. 20-year-old Swarnpreet Singh and 20-year-old Jobanpreet Singh of Brampton were also charged with illegal possession of firearms.
