The crash, which sent two people to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, occurred when a minivan collided with a speeding vehicle.
According to police, the crash occurred around 3:00 p.m. when a Stony Plain peace officer, Nelson. Drive and attempted to stop a speeding red sedan at the intersection of Highway 16A.
The vehicle then approached another red light on Nelson Drive, failed to stop and crashed into a minivan, police said.
