Canada Global(Web News) Toronto residents have been charged with theft and fraud after police recovered nearly 1,500 stolen gift cards in the Greater Napanee area.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers received a report Monday on Alkinbrake Street in Napanee that three people had been picked up from a store and were leaving the scene in a vehicle.
OPP said officers responded and located a vehicle matching the information provided and conducted a traffic stop.
During the investigation, it was determined that the men were connected to a previous shoplifting incident earlier in the day at a business on Sherwood Avenue in Amherst View.
Police say about 1,500 stolen gift cards and Canadian cash were found inside the vehicle.
